Fun Big Sister or Boring Big Sister?

Wtw people,

Okay so I wrote enough about the issues I’m seeing and trying to solve so now I want to focus more on the solutions.

[Solution #1]: Upperclassmen has to do more.

I believe that upperclassmen take on the responsibility and the role of getting the youngins acquainted to college life. I don’t mean no offense by this but I always make the analogy of the baby (underclass) and the parent (upperclass) or the big brother with little brother. The upperclassmen (or the people who know how things are supposed to work) are suppose to take on that Big brother/sister role when the new class comes in. What that means is, encouraging them to get out their comfort zone, make sure they good and check up on them, show them a good time, and overall get them familiar and adjusted to college life.

When that doesn’t happen the youngins are left to fend for themselves and figure out things on their own. OR even worse if we’re being boring and don’t go nowhere, never have fun, and just overall care so little about creating the best experience, then they have no choice but to go along with it. But no matter how you look at it our human nature is to follow in the footsteps of those who are older, who came before us and those who we may look up to.

I get that the current upperclassmen may or may not have had that chance to experience the life I’ve referring to but at the end of the day we can’t lock ourselves in our rooms feeling sorry for ourselves or feel bitter about the past. It doesn’t help anything. There’s still time. The youngins that are here now do have that chance to enjoy Mizzou outside of what they already have to face with white side here.

If none of this make sense think of it like this

If you have a boring big brother who don’t get out much then the little brother most likely will turn out the same. But if you have that big brother who’s fun and is your best friend that you can be a delinquent and a disgrace to your entire family with then more than likely you’ll turn out the same.

You choose which you want to be.

Thanks for read’n
