I recently had a convo with someone and the topic was about one of our G Codes we encourage the most, throwing a**. A few weekends ago I posted on the story encouraging the ladies to consider giving the guys a dance or two. I said this because I went to Zou Shake's Darty and first I would like to say the energy was highkey better than usual. Everyone seemed to be more energetic and enjoying themselves more so props to Zou Shake.
But the guys were legit 20 feet away from the entire function just there looking. Lowkey segregated. Imagine being a kid on punishment and your momma making you watch your friends through a window while they play outside. That's how it looked to me. It was very separated, which I haven't seen before. Even the football players who yall love so much were standing on the sidelines lol (was that a slight pun lol?)
Don’t get me wrong a few moved around and interacted with others/women but only a handful. It got to a point where when they did, people moved away or stopped dancing or throwing a** rather lol. Sharks in the water type of thing. This is not nothing new and I know there are reasons that are obvious. Plus the person I talked to said a lot of the girls that were there were either gay or had a boyfriend. Which is understandable and I wouldn't want anyone to jeopardize that.
But the ones without *eye emoji*

I guess I come from a different culture or have a different experience than most people. I don’t really view dancing or getting twerked on as this huge deal as some people make it to be. I view it as simply having fun and enjoying each others' company. I’m not 100% certain but I believe it has also been over sexualized these days. You don’t have to marry each other to dance on em. Dance, have fun and move on. That's how it should be frl.
Go to other schools and you’ll see what I mean. Go to some schools down south and you’ll see it fasho. Once I find a way to get people more comfortable then hopefully that will help change some things.
